WaterScapes Restaurant is an award-winning restaurant in Myrtle Beach that is located inside the luxurious, four diamond resort Marina Inn at Grande Dunes. WaterScapes is excited to welcome our brand new executive chef, Executive Chef Byron J Bondoc, to our team. Executive Chef Byron brings to the restaurant over 12+ years in the culinary industry.  His passion for cooking began at a young age, inspired by his grandmother who brought secret recipes from her homeland of the Philippines. He served our country as a 3rd Class Petty Officer Culinary Specialist in the United States Navy on the USS Nimitz in San Diego, California. During that time he served as Watch Captain and his excellent culinary skills got him selected as an Assist to the Personal Chef of Admiral Malone, Commander of the Naval Air Forces. He was also awarded the Culinary Specialist of the Month in September 2003 at the USS Nimitz.

Pan Fried Soft Shell Crab

After his service in the Navy, Executive Chef Byron received his formal training at the Culinary Institute of America in New York, where he honed his culinary skills at the renowned French restaurant – Le Cirque. He trained under Le Cirque’s Executive Chef Pierre Schaedelin, who was also Personal Chef for Martha Stewart. Executive Chef Byron represented Le Cirque at the Taste of New York three consecutive years in a row. Upon graduation, he landed a position as the Executive Chef for Hilton Worldwide – Embassy Suites in Secaucus, New Jersey where he oversaw operations for the restaurant, bar, room service and banquets. When he came to Myrtle Beach, he found a job at the prestigious Members Club at Grande Dunes and Ocean Club at Grande Dunes. He assisted the Executive Chef with training staff and menu planning/execution for the club and major banquet events.

When it comes to the evolution of Executive Chef Byron’s cooking style, he has adopted and acquired many different international techniques. His time spent in the melting pot of New York allowed him to hone the flavors of Italian, French, Kiorean, Japanese, and more. He describes his cooking style as Classic French with an Asian and Hawaiian Fusion. Executive Chef Byron’s experience with all types of cooking techniques and exposure to flavors from around the world have led him to create unique specialty dishes featured nightly at WaterScapes Restaurant.

The Marshwalk firework show can be viewed from anywhere along the Marshwalk. Marina Parkway at Grande Dunes

Distance: 2.7 miles

Marina Parkway leads you through the Grande Dunes residential community which means this trail is safe for a family workout! Whether you choose to walk or bike, this is a perfect path for the kids to enjoy the outdoors!

Marina Parkway to Wild Iris Trail

Distance: 4.8 miles

If you’re feeling up to a lengthier workout, extend your adventure past Marina Parkway; continue on the Marina Partway trail and it will stretch another 2 miles as Wild Iris Drive. 

This path will take you through residential areas that wind through the Grande Dunes and Pine Lakes communities! 

Biking will take you about 22 minutes while walking is 1.5 hours one way.

Colonel Robert Bell Path

Distance: 3.5 miles

Start your walk on Marina Inn Parkway, passing the Grande Dunes Marina then continue to Colonel Robert Bell Path! This flat trail crosses over a bridge, however, the path is protected from traffic so your workout is a breeze!

Perrin’s Path

Distance: 4 miles

To reach Perrin’s Path, continue your walk down Marina Parkway then cross over 62nd Ave. to Perrin’s Path! While strolling along, you’ll spot some of the scenic Myrtle Beach neighborhoods visitors and locals alike enjoy seeing!

Ocean Blvd.

Distance: 3.1 miles

Although dedicated to bikers, this trail works for walking and jogging! The path crosses 2 major highways so beware of rush hour traffic! Along this trail, you’ll spot the flawless residential properties along Grande Dunes Blvd.!

Grande Dunes Marina

Grissom Parkway Trail

Distance: 9.1 miles

Grissom Parkway Trail is a lengthy, flat bicycle path that takes you down the Marina Parkway; then over to Perrin’s Path for a short ride – then becomes the Grissom Parkway Trail. Keep an eye out for Broadway at the Beach and Coastal Grand Mall along your near 10-mile path! Note that there are stop lights and crosswalks along the way! 

Horry County Bike Run Park Trail (The Hulk)

Distance: 6.8 miles

Considered the most challenging bike trail in the Myrtle Beach area is appropriately named, “The Hulk”. We like to think the trail lives up to its name! Stretching almost 7 miles, this is a single track trail that twists and turns along the undeveloped terrain. This park is also a trailhead for the new East Coast Greenway.

The East Coast Greenway is a developing bicycle trail system that spans 3,000 miles, from Canada all the way to Key West! In the Myrtle Beach area, it crosses S.C. 31 near Carolina Forest and Myrtle Beach was the first spot along the trail to have their path completed! If biking is your forte, you won’t want to miss out on these enticing trails; all just minutes away from Marina Inn at Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach!

 February 13:  Marshi Gras

Rockin’ Jump  Ultimate Trampoline Park

This is a place where you can really let the kids get active and soar as they bounce on trampolines, flip and dive into pools full of foam cubes, and much more! More than just trampolines, there are seven different stations including

  • X-Beam – use a padded lance to try to knock your opponent off the beam
  • Open/Ultimate Jump area  – tons of room to bounce around freely, do flips and literally bounce off the walls
